What does "due" date and time in the Google Classroom mean?
Can I earn points from team activities when I'm absent during the activity?
No. Team activities accomplished by the team without you do not earn you points.
Exceptions may apply on a case-to-case basis.
Discuss it with the subject professor.
How do I know if my permit is already checked?
At the bottom of the permit post, you’ll be able to see a rubric button which you may expand for you to read the feedback for your submission.
A sample of the rubric’s contents is as follows.
Why is my GCR class archived?
GCR classes are archived to prepare for the classes and set up for the next set of classes of the semester. Note that the contents of archived classes are viewable but no edits and/or submissions can be made.
Why can’t I see GCRs from previous semesters in my dashboard?
Google Classrooms from previous semesters are archived to organize the dashboard for the current semester.
Check your GCR archives. Go to the left menu > Archived
I have already accomplished my activities in the GCR, why is my grade in the portal not updated?
Google Classroom and the university portal are two independent systems. Term grades are manually encoded by faculty members in the university portal during the encoding period.
Updates in the Google Classroom do not automatically update the university portal.
How to view grade in Google Classroom?
You may view the running total of your grade for a given grading period in Google Classroom via mobile or web view. It is when all the activities of a grading period are checked and returned that you will see your grade for the grading period.
To view your using your mobile device, follow the following steps:
If you are using a web browser, log in to your Google Classroom, select the class, and follow the given steps:
I have sent a message or comment in my GCR activity. Why is there no reply?
As there are several classes with different activities on different platforms, the class maintains the class GC for general Q & A and announcements and updates.
For more formal communication, the UPang email is also available for usage.
When are my submitted activities graded and returned?
Submitted activities are graded by your faculty handler ideally during class shifts and RC + IL schedules.
Days and times outside of the said work schedule may also be used by the faculty handler as the time allocated for checking may be insufficient to check all the activities from all of the students from all of the classes.
Returning checked and/or graded activities is done as soon as the activities are graded.
Why are there no scores for some of my activities in the GCR?
Submissions are checked manually by faculty handlers and returned when done. Activities of a given grading will be returned no later than the encoding date of a given grading period.
If you’ve recently sent in an email for missing an activity, worked on your activities, and turned it in, it will be manually checked by the faculty handler and returned when done.
It takes time to check submitted class activities as your professors have multiple classes with multiple activities to check.
Your professors spend time preparing for classes, attending face-to-face classes, managing several online platforms, and working on activities and tasks required by the department.
Your understanding and patience are appreciated.
How to view rubrics in Google Classroom?
At the bottom of an activity post such as SAS activity, you’ll see a button that says “Rubric: 1 criterion”. Click the button to expand and read the criteria for checking.
If the activities have been checked and returned, the highlighted item shows you your score and the feedback for your submission.
Can I submit a pdf file or set of images instead of the attached file?
You need to follow the post instructions.
To edit the submission file, you will need to use an online editor such as Google Docs.
Only the submission files (i.e. attached file for editing for the student) are checked and are considered valid submissions for the activity. You may check the rubrics attached to the activity for your guide.
I can’t edit the submission file copy attached to my activity. Can I submit a pdf file or set of images instead?
Your submission will be graded according to the posted rubric. It is best to comply with the instructions.
Consider installing Google Docs to edit the file.
If you’ve submitted your output already, you will need to unsubmit it first, make your updates, and resubmit when done.
Do I need to update my profile picture on the class platforms such as the GCR?
- For official university accounts, it is preferred that you update your profile with class-appropriate photos.
- During your stay with the university, we would like to have everyone create profiles that befit university-level students, as such setting up your accounts and updating them will be among the first tasks that you’ll need to accomplish.
- When you enter the university and/or your classroom, part of the uniform you wear is your ID. Transitioning to online classes, and updating your profile photos is a way to identify your identity. It serves as an online ID as you work on your online activities.
- Take a photo of yourself wearing your uniform with white background. Note: When you take the photo, make sure that is proportionally zoomed in to your face as shown in the reference.
