What are my options if my team’s project manager or leader is inactive?

An inactive project manager (PM) or leader is one who no longer accomplishes project tasks and/or responds to the members for project-related communication given that members have exhausted all possible methods of reaching out to the PM or leader.

The team may send an email to the adviser informing the adviser of the PM’s or leader’s inactivity and the chosen option of the team.

The active team members may then select one from the two options below:

Option 1: New Leader or PM

🟢 Remove the current PM or leader from the team
🟢 Select a new PM or leader from the current set of active members
🟢 Continue with the project with the current title and new PM
🟢 Redistribute project tasks as needed

Option 2: Team Dissolution

🟢 Apply for team dissolution (i.e. team will be dissolved)
🟢 Note: project title will no longer be available to the team
🟢 Former team members files application to existing teams (Read: “How do I apply to a team?”)
